PHE Teacher of the Year Nomination: Patty Haught

Mrs. Haught is a Second Grade teacher at Pleasant Hill Elementary. She graduated from Glenville State College with an Elementary Degree in Multi-Subjects K-4,5-8 and also holds a Masters of Arts in Early Intervention Special Education from West Virginia University. Mrs. Haught currently serves as Pleasant Hill Elementary Faculty Senate President and serves on the Calhoun County Leadership Team.

Mrs. Haught has received the 2011 Calhoun County Teacher of the Year and the 1998 Golden Apple Achiever Award presented by Ashland Coal.

Mrs. Haught’s philosophy of teaching—” I realize through my many years of teaching things have changed drastically, and I have changed as well. However, one thing has remained the same, and that is my love for teaching and the desire I have to leave an everlasting impression on the students and to create life long learners excited to come to school each day”.
