Lady Red Devils Basketball Team Break School Record

On February 1st, 2020, The Lady Red Devils Basketball team won their 13th basketball game of the year against non-conference opponent Tolsia. The Red Devils ran over the Rebels in a 65-28 blowout, moving them to a 13-5 overall record. This win proved to be sweeter than others, considering the Lady Devils broke the school win record of 12. The previous school record was held by the 1990-91 team. The 1990-91 team were also sectional champions. Josie Montgomery led the pack, scoring 28 points. Savannah Cunningham had 10, Madison Dennis had 8, Kaylin Parsons and Joselynn Yeager each had 7, Karlie Whited had 3, and Megan Harding finished with 2. The Lady Devils did more than outscore the Rebels though. Calhoun had a total of 50 team rebounds. Kaylin Parsons had 12, Josie Montgomery had 9, Karlie Whited and Joselynn Yeager had 8 each, Madison Dennis had 6, and Savannah Cunningham had 4. Calhoun’s defense also proved to be very efficient, racking up 14 steals. Savannah Cunningham and Josie Montgomery had 5 each, Madison Dennis had 2, and Ella Hess had 1.
