Opioid Awareness Summit

On Tuesday, September 18, a group of our high school students attended the Opioid Awareness Summit at West Virginia University. The summit presented multiple people who all had an addiction story to tell. The speakers told their stories and then told the students how they could help themselves and others.

One of the many things that the students were taught was that everyone can be a game changer. A game changer means that you have the ability to change someone’s life and/or your own life. Throughout the many stories that were told, they all included how one person or thing was their game changer and turned their life around. For some people maybe a person giving them a compliment will be their game changer while for others it will be something like music that will make a difference in their life. They were told to try and find their game changer and then help others find theirs.
